MORAY MP COMMENTS ON RAIL STRIKE Posted on Wednesday, March 7 2007
Commenting on the signalling strike affecting Scotland's rail network, Moray MP Angus Robertson said:" The strike is causing huge disruption to people in the North and North East of Scotland. " In Moray there has been a huge increase in rail users in recent years and many people commute to both Inverness and Aberdeen. " I am very disappointed that the working hours issue that the strike is over has not been resolved leading to this action and I hope that both management and the unions are working through the night to try and find an agreement and get our rail network up and running again. " I am also very concerned that while some services have been kept going in the Central belt of Scotland, routes between Inverness and Aberdeen and South to Dundee and Perth have been completely shut-down. I am sure Moray rail users will be wondering why there couldn't have at least been a couple of services running rather than focussing almost exclusively on Edinburgh and Glasgow. Ends.
